Westarctica
Westarctica is a self-declared micronation that claims a portion of Antarctica known as Marie Byrd Land, a large, unclaimed region between the Ross Ice Shelf and the Ronne Ice Shelf. Founded in 2001 by Grand Duke Travis McHenry, Westarctica was created to draw attention to geopolitical anomalies and environmental concerns, particularly those surrounding Antarctica.
The Minister of Citizenship
In Westarctica, the Minister of Citizenship plays an important role in managing the engagement, growth, and organization of the micronation’s citizen body. One of his duties is reviewing and approving new citizenship requests from individuals who wish to join Westarctica, ensuring applicants understand the mission and values of the micronation. The Minister of Citizenship serves as a bridge between the government of Westarctica and its people, helping to strengthen internal cohesion and grow the nation’s presence on the global micronational stage.

Civilian Corps
The Civilian Corps is an organization with the intent of recognizing and incentive civilian activity and engagement, within Westarctica.

The Civilian Corps is not directly
affiliated in any way with any military, intelligence, peace-keeping, or law enforcement body. Membership or service in any of those organizations does not prevent service in the Civilian Corps.
